A Sweet In-Kind Contribution to Tammy Duckworth

sweet
I had just finished praising the Sun-Times’ Lynn Sweet for digging up Michael Flanagan as a lobbyist to make her point against Republican Peter Roskam when lo! we find in today’s paper a Sweet column that constitutes a love-letter in-kind contribution to the campaign of Tammy Duckworth, an opponent of Roskam. The point of this breathless column is that a law firm is going to host a reception for Duckworth. That’s it. Sweet is doing everything but handling the RSVPs. My, how wonderful it must be as a one-person Washington bureau chief to be in charge of no one but herself and at liberty to write anything she wants ala Ms.Runamok--including promotions of rallies for favorite Democratic candidates and not be bothered with tiresome editorial supervision.
