Personal Asides: Soo First with the Trivia Answer, Followed by WPD Sorry, Forgot to Credit Lovies Leather on Nixon The Latest Terry Trivia.
Soo.
Judging by the time notation in response, the correspondent Soo won the latest Terry Przybylski presidential trivia contest followed closely by WPD. The question was: who was the only southerner to serve as president between the post Civil War and the election of Lyndon Johnson? The answer: Woodrow Wilson, born in Virginia who also spent some time practicing law in Augusta, Georgia. True, he was elected president after having been governor of New Jersey but his roots were southern. And not particularly enlightened in civil rights, either as WPD relates in Readers Response.

Excuse this senior citizenss faltering response to the fact that Lovies Leather also had the answer right to this question: With Minnesota having gone the longest in the nation without voting for a Republican president, who was the president it supported? Answer: Richard Nixon over George McGovern in 1972. Sorry, Lovie.
