Celebrity News and Lefty Views.

Celebrity’s tot, Carol Marin, is reportedly going to succeed Dick Kay as political editor of Channel 5 (NBC) where she will dispense her conventionally lefty views when she isn’t spewing them as political columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times where she re-treads the predictable and as contributing commentator for WTTW-TV Channel 11, Chicago public television where she advocates sterile liberal views paid for partially by your tax dollars. Like the better known perky Katie Couric soon to be anchoring the CBS Evening News, Marin has traded on the dumbing down of broadcast news. Couric made her name on the cheap by attacking an easy target: David Duke the Klansman. Marin similarly quit NBC in a burst of outraged morality, in protest to Jerry Springer’s likely addition to the NBC format from which Marin had been scheduled to leave anyhow. Her ascension to the news heights basis celebrity-hood tells you all you need to know about the low estate of broadcast TV news proving that you can indeed go far in bubble-gum snapping journalism based on what you don’t know and refuse to learn.

“You don't need papers for voting.”

On Thursday night, Francine Busby, the Democratic candidate for the 50th Congressional District, was speaking before a largely Latino crowd in Escondido when she uttered those words.

Illegal aliens voting. From Chicago to San Diego, Democrats proudly say "Si su puede".

We will learn by next week if this is yet another example of the issue of illegal immigration altering the course of an election.

  2. Aside from the obvious illegality, why shouldn't new immigrants vote? Wasn't one of the founding mantras of the country No Taxation Without Representation? Or does that only apply to people that current residents deem worthy of the franchise.
